According to US Soccer all age divisions are categorized by Birth Year. The US Soccer Birth Year Season Age Matrix has been adopted by our tournament and is how the Northstars Cup recognizes age groups. The 3rd Annual Northstars Cauldron Cup October 19, 2024 falls under the 2024-25 Season. Coaches please verify the US Soccer Birth Year Season Age Matrix to avoid any uncertainty of your players eligibility. This matrix makes it cut and dry what age level a player is eligible for. A player may play up but can not play down an age level.

*With the start of the 2018-2019 playing season, the age calculation will be based on the calendar year that is from January 1 – December 31. The playing age is derived from subtracting the ending year of the seasonal playing year, minus the birth. If a birth year falls outside of the ranges specified in the matrix below, a playing age will not be displayed as the player is either too old, or too young.
